We are really excited to welcome friends from Arts Release and related groups to HLBC on Sunday April 7th for a special afternoon celebration of our international community.

ARTS RELEASE is a collective of creative arts specialists who love Jesus and people of other cultures. The group enjoy expressing God’s love through various art forms – some have professional arts training and others have picked up skills on the way. Some are full-time, others part-time. We are currently based in England France and Germany. You can find out more about their work in the UK on their website >>

Leading the music will be Arts Release’s Resonance Band, plus ASHA performing arts group and work from visual artists. This will be a fun event and suitable for all ages.

ASHA is a new performing arts group, based in the West Midlands. ASHA, which means hope, is passionate about sharing God’s love with South Asian women through storytelling, mime, drama and dance.

“We do this by choosing Bible stories that either feature women or have themes that are particularly appealing to South Asian women such as honour, shame, family, food and hospitality. All our performances have a unique Asian look and feel as we incorporate multi lingual script, Asian songs and dance. Afterwards, we run small discussion groups to give women the opportunity to respond to what they have just seen and to ask any questions.”

Enjoy music and arts followed by an international buffet. Everyone is welcome, young and old, and you are invited to come in your ethnic national dress!

This event is in the church hall (Hilton Place entrance) at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

Contact the Church Office if you’d like to know more about this event.
