Watch Night Service

11.30pm Saturday Evening Worship

Join us for a small and peaceful service to welcome in Christmas morning! Carols, prayer and worship.

The service will last for around 40 minutes and take place in the main church building. Everyone is welcome.

Carol Service

6pm Carol Service

The last evening service of 2011 is a special Christmas celebration, starting at 6pm.

Join us for carols and readings revealing the true meaning of Christmas, and that express the colour and variety of the HLBC community. The service will be led from the front by Graeme and a series of readers, and will include some congregational carols, as well as some led by our (for one night only!) Christmas choir.

Refreshments will be served after the service, and the baby and toddler room is open all through the evening.

Nativity Service – Advent 2011

10am Morning Service

Join us for worship, prayer and teaching on this final Sunday in Advent.

We welcome Sunday Club, the young people of HLBC, today. They will take us on a journey through the Christmas story, with drama, carols and prayers.

You are welcome to a warm and friendly family service, followed by refreshments in the Green Room. There will be no Sunday Club as all the children are involved in the service, but the baby and toddler room is open throughout the morning.

PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY 4 DEC 2011

Heavenly Father, as once again we prepare for Christmas, help us to find time in our busy lives for quiet and thought and prayer, that we may reflect upon the wonder of your love and allow the story of the Saviour’s birth to penetrate our hearts and minds. So may our joy be deeper, our worship more real, and our lives worthier of all that you have done for us through the coming of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (more…)

Arty Friday: Heavens Night

Arty Friday returns after a break for Bonfire Night with a double whammy!!

A Heavenly Evening of art and craft, inspired by the skies over our heads.

We welcome members of the Leeds Astronomical Society who will (weather permitting) be showing us some of the wonders of our solar system and beyond through their telescopes. If the skies are cloudy there will be a presentation on the big screen.

And at the same time, we welcome Karoly who will lead us through some of the wonders of dye work, and we will be creating some colourful galaxies and clusters of our own on fabric.

As we will be waiting for the stars to rise, we will take the late start time of 7.30pm. In the Green Room and church garden (back street side).

Everyone is welcome at Arty Friday – there are always activities for kids to get stuck into, as well as for grown-ups to relax over.

Drink and cakes provided. Arty Fridays are free – if you can manage a £1 donation on the night it is gladly received and will go towards room hire and refreshments cost.
